Hard work never goes unnoticed and a Rolling Stone gathers no moss – these two lessons of life must always be remembered.

Meet Dr. Soma Dutta

She is the Founder President of PGF World Literary and Cultural Foundation, a registered NPO under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Chief Editor of the magazine 'Aspirations'. She is the Vice President of CTI Women's Wing (Greater Noida).

Creativity is her passion. As a writer and a poet, 11 books of hers have been published. She is a very optimistic person with positive thoughts and believes in the ultimate goodness of human beings. In her article, she shares her beautifully conceptualised stepwise ladder towards building a successful career.

As I have lifted up my pen to write about my views on ‘Building a Successful Career’ the beautiful lines of the poem ‘The Road not Taken’ by Robert Frost is coming to my mind. As the poet could not travel on both the roads, at the same time, he had to choose one. The roads in this poem are symbolic to career options. The poet’s decision was correct; he had chosen the correct career option.

Whether we will become successful in life or not, depends on our right career choice. Career is a profession for which we train or prepare ourselves, we dream of aspiring for a longer period of our life.

Life is but a roving experience characterised by a mixed bag of thoughts which tend to sway a person without realising to stay in the moment and enjoy its fruits.

Similar are the thoughtful bags of the youngsters today, who in the race to nowhere, many a times tends to leave a moment, for a moment, for which there is an ocean of uncertainty and the high tides can end a pleasant journey in wilderness.

Every one of us who has worked in the corporate world has many experiences and stories to share about their successful journeys. Some would have risen to the top of the corporate ladder; some are working their way up still, while the rest have just started. While the personal experiences of each one of us can and do vary a great deal, depending on the organisation culture, the people you meet and the job profile you do, there are quite a few common experiences we all share.
